A large share of a building's heating and cooling load passes through its facade. The company's contribution is thermal performance that is verified rather than assumed, aluminium that is recovered rather than discarded, and systems built to stay in service for decades.
Thermal-break aluminium profiles, isothermal profile design and insulating glass with warm-edge spacers reduce the U-value of the envelope and the daily heating and cooling demand of the building.
Aluminium can be recycled repeatedly without loss of properties, and recycling uses about 95% less energy than primary production. Offcuts and scrap from the plant are returned to the recycling stream; glass and steel components are recoverable.
The Shaoxing plant operates under an ISO 14001 environmental management system. The automated aluminium panel coating line runs with controlled emissions, and waste and water are managed process by process.
The design institute has developed building-integrated photovoltaic curtain walls and double-skin breathing facades. The cavity of a double-skin facade ventilates naturally, buffers heat and brings in daylight; the photovoltaic facade generates power on the envelope itself.
Unitized panels are assembled and inspected in the factory and installed without external scaffolding, which means fewer deliveries, less site waste, faster enclosure and safer work at height.
Hardware with zinc-nickel plating rated to 1,000 hours of neutral salt spray, durable coatings and details that can be maintained are specified so the facade does not need replacing.
Envelope U-values, solar-control glazing and photovoltaic output support energy credits; recyclable aluminium and glass with product documentation support materials credits; daylight, perimeter thermal comfort and acoustic performance support indoor environmental quality credits.
